| | Which humidification technology is the best for your application?
A guideline for your decision
By Axair AG Pfäffikon (SZ) Switzerland
The level of humidity in an environment is important in order to satisfy either the comfort and health of people or a particular production process. Applications and the need for humidification have been addressed several times in the Walter Meier News Letter. However there are different ways to humidify the air. Water, in the form of steam or cold vapour, must be absorbed by the air in order to increase the moisture content. Although this process looks simple, the execution isn't as easy. Because water, steam or cold-steam, air flow, electricity, scaling and additional elements are involved in humidification, a comprehensive knowledge and expertise is needed to design the products. Also, because there are different ways to humidify the air, the customers are very often confronted with a variety of technologies and products. In such cases it's not obvious to know which product or technology is best for the particular application. In this article we put together some criteria which may help to choose the best technology. Both basic technologies, isothermal and adiabatic, are considered in detail. Axair AG has a comprehensive range of technologies and products available. We are therefore in a position to offer you the most suitable solution for your application and humidity demand.
