| | Condair Esco, Mina Hospital / Saudi Arabia
Millions of people visit the Mina Valley every year, a region which plays a significant role in the Hajj pilgrimage. A new 500 bed hospital will be opened in this valley (which is close to Mecca) towards the end of 2008. Mina is located in a desert region where a relative air humidity of over 30% represents something of a curiosity from an air conditioning perspective.
Humidifying of room air is obligatory in hospitals to ensure not only the wellbeing of patients and staff but also the protection of expensive electronic equipment and the quick healing of wounds. Malfunctions of electronic operating equipment caused by inadequately low humidity can result in fatal consequences. Adequate humidity in the delivery wards and intensive infant care departments is also extremely important.
The decision taken on the Mina Hospital project to the benefit of Walter Meier (Climate International) Ltd. is all thanks to the efforts of the Saudi Arabian representative Climatech Trading Est. A number of 29 Condair Esco models with DL40 stainless steel steam distributor pipes in so-called monoblocks will be installed for air coordination in patient rooms, operating theatres and laboratories.
A further criterion for the use of Condair Esco in hospitals is that these units completely satisfy safety requirements relating to the adherence to clean air quality and hygiene regulations.
The Saudi Arabian health sector is planning the construction of numerous other hospitals in 2008, and the Mina Hospital installation with Condair Esco systems will be a positive reference project for our representative Climatech Trading Est.
